CoolPlayer Skins

PolarFreeze
08-04-2001: This theme consists of skins for NextStart, WorkShelf, CoolPlayer, WindowBlinds, and DesktopX.
This was the last CoolPlayer skin that I made before switching to QCD Player.

Chameleon
07-04-2001: Here’s one skin that lives up to its name - there are eight different color/texture sets for this one! Clicking on the change skin button will automatically cycle between all of them.

BlackBanana
06-21-2001: Just to be different, there are no straight lines, rectangles, or perfect circles in the main skin!

Yield
06-17-2001: I decided to throw caution to the wind and pick new colors. So, instead of Blue and Grey, I went out on a limb and chose Yellow and Grey! Part of a set: WindowBlinds, NextStart, CoolPlayer, DX Clock, DX Trash, DX Meters.

CMX-5005
06-11-2001: Based on my first Sonique Skin which was based off of a Pioneer CD Player. Don't know why, but I love the colors and really like the looks of this thing. It's very easy to use and easy on the eyes! This was also the first time that I skinned the playlist. It's pretty easy to do, but creating all of the button bitmaps is an exercise in patience.

MiniGlow II
06-06-2001: I liked the idea of the MiniGlow skin, but it was still too big. I made a smaller version and changed the colors and the button styles. There are a several things that are missing, such as the min/exit button, song position, etc. but I didn't want the skin to get too crowded. Most of the functionality you can get from a right-click on it anyway.

Piquient
04-20-2001: This was a bit more fun to do, since I bothered to make two skins for it - the main mode which is small, and the larger mode, which is taller. The large mode contains the full-blown EQ, and the volume slider is on the left. On the small skin, the volume is a knob on the right instead of a slider. That's one !@#$ tiny font there - sometimes I can't even read it!

LiteStuff
02-18-2001: This, along with a few other CoolPlayer skins, was designed to be integrated into a theme. I usually like to have a big control bar along the bottom, so that explains why these skins are so often rectangular! Boring, but functional.

Moonshine
10-25-2000: This skin matches the rest of my MoonShine theme. The volume knob on the right is somewhat interesting, although the knob types don't seem to be quite as easy to use as the position type.

MiniGlow
09-11-2000: This was my first CoolPlayer skin. I was pleasantly surprised skinning this, as Coolplayer was a breeze compared to Sonique. However, I still miss Sonique's ability to animate the volume control - you can really get some neat effects with that. For this skin I tried to stuff in several of my favorite effects, such as scanlines, a "glowing" LCD screen, depressing buttons, metal/crystal looking components.
