WinStep Themes

Graduate

10-17-002: I whipped up the original Graduate WinStep theme a couple of months ago. Since then I've been using it constantly, which made me think that it's time to skin a few more apps and make a small suite. I ended up with skins for WinStep, WindowBlinds, SysMetrix, QCD Player, ColorPad, Rainlender, and a new wallpaper. The WinStep theme has been updated to include some of the new features available in NextStart 3 and WorkShelf 1.2, most notably the taskbar and text effects. I also redid the wallpaper, which is now more of a combination of the old Graduate WP and the Graphican WP.

	06-15-2002: I started out with a QCD Player skin and liked it well enough to turn it into a WinStep theme. The momentum seemed to build and after all was said and done I ended up with another QCD Player skin, a WinAmp skin, and a ColorPad skin! The wallpaper won't please everyone, but the theme goes pretty well with most dark ones so feel free to substitute.

	05-03-2002: Here's my entry for the WinStep Skinning competition. I had several ideas when I started, and ended up with about three separate themes. This is the one that I ended up liking best though - not too flashy, not too plain!

	02-01-2002: Here's another minimalist theme in that it's not very fancy from the graphics standpoint. I did a abstract style of wallpaper for this one which ended up turning out quite well, at least in my opinion. Then again, I'm not very good at wallpapers! The screenshot shows NextSTART in both horizontal and vertical, WorkShelf, Clockulator, Inhotus, and QCD Player.

12-09-2001: Talk about simple - two colors and a bevel! I didn't want to bother doing anything fancy this time - just basic stuff. Except for the bevels, no 3D effects, no special shapes, no gradients or dropshadows - you get the picture. Oh yeah - no colors either! I did a better job skinning this one as I finally took advantage of stretching and supplied bitmaps for horizontal versions of NextSTART. The screenshot shows NextSTART in both horizontal and vertical, WorkShelf, Clockulator, RainMeter, and QCD Player.

	06-20-2001: I decided to throw caution to the wind and pick new colors. So, instead of Blue and Grey, I went out on a limb and chose Yellow and Grey! Part of a set: WindowBlinds, NextStart, CoolPlayer, DX Clock, DX Trash, DX Meters. 06-20-01 - Updated to skin WorkShelf - Many thanks to the talented gillon for creating the WorkShelf portion and improving the NS portion!
