Following are some of the themes that I've made for SysMetrix. I've included them here just to give you an idea
of what SysMetrix can do. The themes vary from simple to complex, and each theme can be radically different
from the next. These themes and others are automatically available since they're part of the standard installation.
You can also download several hundred themes for SysMetrix from popular skinning web sites such as
WinCustomize,
SkinBase,
Deviant Art,
DeskMod, and
ArtUproar.

There's a lot of info packed into this clock. The inner dials show
CPU usage, Drive C: use, physical memory use, and a dual time zone
that's configurable and currently set for Western Europe Standard
Time. The lower switches indicate the presence of unread email
messages and whether there are files in the recycle bin. Finally,
the upper text indicates the outside temperature and the current
day. All this in pseudo shiny glass and metal!
This is the kind of theme that I've been wanting to make for ages,
and now that SysMetrix supports gauge objects and .png images
with alpha transparency, it's become a reality.

Shex Panel
|
Here's a theme that I made to demo some of the recently added control types.
In the upper left there's an analog clock with other time and date information including my system's uptime.
Moving to the right, there are lights that indicate when I've got email and when there's stuff in my recycle bin. These are accomplished via the dual-state image object.
On the upper right is a histogram displaying the CPU usage history along with the current value of CPU usage.
Below the CPU histogram are two horizontal sliders that represent the percentage of physical and swap memory in use.
At the bottom is a panel of multi-state images in the form of analog guages that are used to show the usage of drives C through G.
In addition to the analog guage, there's a textual display of the current usage percentage.

Graduate

This theme shows off a little bit of everything. I've got a few variations using the same style of graphics - a long bar, a split-up bar, and this stacked version. This version isn't the prettiest, but it's the most compact so it's easier to display here.
On the top row we have drive meters showing usage for drives C and D. Note that it even shows the drive label instead of the generic "C" and "D".
The middle rows are pretty self-explanitory: network in and out, physical and swap memory, cpu usage, date and time.
The bottom row shows that I've got email and that my recycle bin is empty. This particular theme uses the rotating email stats, so every few seconds it shows how many unread messages I have in each account.

This theme is similar to the Graduate Theme in that it displays a lot of the same information.
The top section has an analog clock, time, day, date, and windows uptime
The next section has a CPU histogram and sliders for the physical and swap memory used
The next section has temperature readings for the motherboard and cpu, as well as fan rpm
The following section has network in and out histograms.
The next section has drive C and D statistics. This section uses both left-justified text (for the
drive space used) and right justified text (for the drive space free).
The next section has volume sliders for the system and wave channels. It also displays the currently playing song (title and artist)
and has media controller buttons.
The last two sections indicate the recycle bin status and email account status.

Here's a theme that I made to a while back to complement a NextStart theme of mine by the same name.
This was done a little while after I added a bunch of the metering capabilities. It was also the first
theme that showed off the image-based histograms and bargraphs. Notice that this one shows more of the
network statistics, such as hostname, IP address, TCP Bytes in, Average TCP Bytes In, TCP Bytes out, and
Average TCP Bytes Out.

Here's a theme that I made to a while back to complement another NextStart theme.
This one demonstrates that it doesn't have to be big to be useful. You can actually fit a
lot of information in a small space.

Here's one of the first themes that I made for it back when it was only a clock.
These two pictures compare the two different modes of drawing the clock hands. On the left, they are not antialiased
and are fully opaque. They look like they were slapped on the background instead of integrated into it. On the right
the hands are anti-aliased (no more jaggies!) and partially transparent. Because of that, they blend into the background
better and look like a real part of the clock. See how the minute hand is brighter on the end where the glare on the
clock face lights it up?

World Time
|
This theme demonstrates SysMetrix's ability to show the time and date in various timezones. The analog clock on
the bottom left shows the local time, and to the right of that is a text-based display of the local time and UTC (GMT) time.
It also shows the time in over 20 prominent cities around the world. This capability allows you to easily keep
track of the time and date anywhere in the world. SysMetrix also determines whether or not the particular timezone
practices Daylight Savings Time and will automatically adjust depending on the current date and the specific offset.

Various Analog Clock Hand Styles
|
This isn't so much a theme but rather several screenshots of the same theme which shows off the
various analog clock hand styles available: Offset Line, Pointer, Offset Pointer, Hollow Pointer, Offset Hollow Pointer, Arrow, Circle Tipped, Half Length, and Circle.
Additionally you can optionally add a dropshadow on the clock hands - complete with alphablending percentage and offset values

Thermometer showing current temperature
|
With the addition of SysMetrix reporting on METAR weather reports, I created a demo theme to show what
the outside temperature is in a more traditional analog style - a themometer. This theme gathers the
weather report hourly, then displays it in a multistate image.
